Safety when working on or near electrical installations – EuP training according to DGUV Regulation 3, DIN VDE 1000-10 and DGUV Regulation 1
Electrically Instructed Person (EuP) - Expertise
For your German-speaking employees, we offer the course in German.
The EuP course qualifies people who are not trained electricians, but who are present in electrical operating facilities and / or have to work on or near electrical installations under the responsibility and supervision of a qualified electrician (in german: Elektrofachkraft – EFK).
The daily activities of an electrically instructed person (EuP) may include the following activities:
- Operating circuit breakers and residual current devices (RCDs)
- Replacing fuses and light bulbs
- Resetting emergency stop devices or protective equipment
- Exchanging fuses
- Assisting the qualified electrician in performing inspections of electrical work and operating equipment according to DGUV Regulation 3
- Supporting maintenance work of any kind
In this course, you will acquire the necessary electrical engineering expertise and deepen your understanding through practical exercises with portable electrical equipment. In addition to electrical fundamentals, electrical hazards, and necessary protective measures, you will also be introduced to the use of measuring and testing devices.
NOTE: The EuP cannot assume independent electrical responsibility. They are not permitted to modify circuits, connect or disconnect electrical equipment, or locate and repair faults in electrical systems. The EuP always works under the guidance and supervision of a qualified electrician / as part of a team of qualified electricians.
This course based on the German Legislation and the DIN VDE regulations. § 12 ArbSchG, DIN VDE 1000-10 and DGUV Regulation 1 require an annual instruction. By attending the “Annual training: Electrically instructed person (EuP) - maintaining competence” (Webcode EP-EEUP) you fulfil these requirements and document that you have maintained your expertise. You can find more information at:
Course objective
- After completing the EuP training course, you will be able to carry out simple electrical activities professionally and safely as part of a team of qualified electricians.
- You are sensitized to the dangers of electrical current and can better classify them.
- You will be able to take appropriate measures in the event of electrical accidents.
- You will gain a valuable insight into relevant electrical equipment.
- The trainer will give you an overview of the relevant accident prevention regulations and standards.
- You will have the expertise to test portable equipment according to VDE 0702 under the supervision of a qualified electrician.
