Introduction to Docker

This two day training is a solid introduction to the Docker platform. We will investigate the “why” of Docker and through a series of exercises learn its most important commands and capabilities, including:

• Running Docker containers
• Creating and extending Docker images
• Managing and inspecting images and containers
• Working with an image repository
• Managing data with Docker volumes
• Basic networking for Docker to setup multi-container apps
• Using fig to easily start multi-container apps
• Understanding the technology off the Docker application

After this workshop, you will have a basic understanding of Docker and will be able to comfortably integrate it in your working environment. Participants need no prior knowledge of Docker. Knowledge of basic Linux commands is helpful, though not required.

Pini Reznik Pini has 15+ years of experience in delivering software in Israel and Netherlands. Starting as a developer and moving through technical, managerial and consulting positions in Configuration Management and Operations areas, Pini acquired deep understanding of the software delivery processes and currently helping organisations around Europe with improving software delivery pipeline by introducing Docker and other cutting edge technologies.
