Beschreibung

This course covers the use of SAS for multiple comparisons in general applications, including studies with multiple outcome measures, studies with multiple group comparisons, and in combination. This course is NOT a hands-on programming course, but SAS is used for several live demonstrations. You will learn how to apply the most current, powerful, state-of-the-art methods for multiple comparisons and how to use the PLM procedure for the broadest range of multiple comparisons applications. During the course you will perform multiple comparisons in all the standard cases, as well as in nonlinear models, mixed models, multivariate models, heterpscedastic models, and non-normal models.

Voraussetzungen
Before attending this course, you should have some experience creating and managing SAS data sets, which you can gain from the course „SAS® Programmierung 1: Grundlagen" (PRG1), you should be able to fit simple and multiple linear regression models using the REG procedure and to analyze a one-way analysis of variance using the GLM procedure. You should understand the statistical concepts of normal distribution, sampling distributions, hypothesis testing, and estimation. So you will need to complete a graduate-level course in regression and analysis of variance methods, or attend the course „Statistik 1: Varianzanalyse, Regression und logistische Regression" (ST193).

Zielgruppe
Anyone who needs to use multiple comparison procedures for the evaluation of statistical studies, including clinical trials researchers, data analysts in the pharmaceutical industry, people working in health informatics, biostatisticians, and generally anyone working in an environment where statistical claims must be rigorously justified.

Module
No specific moduls.

Kursinhalte
  • Classical Single-Step Testing and Interval Methods to Control FWE
  • Single-Step Methods for Nonstandard Designs and Comparisons
  • Stepwise Testing Using Holm's Method
  • Stepwise Testing Using Correlations
  • Stepwise Testing Using Logical Constraints
  • Stepwise Testing Using Logical Constraints and Correlations
  • More Complex Models

Referent
Presented by Peter Westfall, Ph.D., professor of statistics at Texas Tech University
