Recording great vocals are a key element to get your track to sound great. Dave Pensado, our Grammy Award-winning lecturer will show you how it’s done. During this course, you’ll learn how to select the right microphone, how and when to set up wind screens and pop filters, how to improve and select good room acoustics. Then we’ll show you how to set up your microphone pre-amp, possibly adding an EQ or compressor and do proper gain staging.
You will also learn the psychology behind getting a great take and how to make a vocalist feel comfortable. We will show you how to edit and mix those recorded vocals, possibly using AutoTune or Melodyne when necessary.
